The Concubine (2011)
"'Hwa-yeon', an local officials daughter is made to be the King’s concubine against her wish. Once inside the royal palace, two men are immediately seized by the woman -- the Prince 'Seong-won', a megalomaniacal ruler who struggles to regain control of his throne from his all controlling mother, the Queen, and the eunuch, 'Kwon-yoo', who has everything to lose if his desire for Hwa-yeon is exposed. As political intrigue begins to infiltrate this love triangle, the palace is filled with greed and lust from which they will be lucky to stay alive"
"Concubine"is a Shakepearian tale of lust and greed. To compliment the story the design of the film is very theatrical. I had to light to give the actors room to move through the stage. The film was shot with two Redone MX's which took turns in overheating.
